The operator is the motor on your garage ceiling. Many people call it the opener. It does the hard work every time you press the button. Like any motor, it wears out. Think about a new one if:

Help Choosing a Motor

We match the operator to your door's size and weight, so it is strong enough without being too much.

Old Operator Taken Down

We safely remove the old motor, rail and wires from your garage ceiling.

New Operator Put In

We hang the new motor, line up the rail and set how far the door opens and closes.

Wi-Fi and Phone App

If your operator has Wi-Fi, we connect it so you can use your phone to open and close the door.

Remotes and Keypads

We program your car remotes and set up an outside keypad so family can get in without a key.

Safety Sensors Tested

We line up the sensors near the floor and test them so the door goes back up if something is in the way.

Good to know: a new operator cannot fix a door that is out of balance. We check your door and springs first, so your new motor lasts a long time.

How do I know my operator needs to be replaced?

If it hums but the door will not move, makes loud grinding sounds, or keeps acting up after repairs, it may be time for a new one. We can check it and tell you for sure.

Can I open my garage door with my phone?

Yes, with a Wi-Fi operator. You can open, close and check your door from an app, even when you are away from home.

Are new operators quieter?

Many are. Belt-drive operators are some of the quietest, which is great if there is a bedroom near your garage.

Will a new operator work with my door?

Almost always. We pick a motor that fits your door's size and weight, and we check that the door is balanced first.

Will my old remotes still work?

Sometimes they will not match the new operator. We set up new remotes and can help connect the button in your car.
